When Eye on Moseley made an ill-advised journey into Birmingham, it could only end in one thing… trouble. Local youth combo “Rhythm and the Devil” (they play the blues you know) invited us along to witness one of their live music performances at the famous James Brindley pub. Though we generally balk at the prospect of leaving the safe confines of Moseley, this looked like an opportunity we couldn’t turn down.

As seasoned journalists, we entered the pub with an air of confidence but little did we know that, unlike the easy going hostelries of Moseley, the big city landlords are out to make money at any cost. We watched the band and marvelled at the fast pace of life that makes up the new international “Birmingham”. Our wonder was about to end, forever.

On visiting the bar we were embarrassed to learn that we had become embroiled in what can only be described as a complicated counterfeiting scam. It appears that the cunning landlord attempts to pass off his “dodgy” money on unsuspecting customers.

We at Eye on Moseley ask our readers only one thing, don’t go to this pub or at the very least check your change. You can’t trust them.
