bike_junctionEveryone knows that cycling is literally the most dangerous activity you can do in Moseley (unless your family sends you to live in one of those Care Homes off Reddings Road). Cyclists take their lives in the hands, risking getting knocked on the bonce by the punchy bloke from Weird and Wonderful or just getting conventionally run over by a lorry or a bus.

Well that used to be the case, now we’ve seen a massive investment in Moseley’s cycling infrastructure. This money has bought us nearly 20 feet of cycle lanes and made an average journey nearly 2% safer.

This major development was carried out by the Council’s transport contractor who told us, “It will take a normal cyclist about two and a half seconds to clear the entire cycle lane but we’ve done some research and we reckon that this was easily the most dangerous two and a half seconds on the whole route. It might not look much but it took a lot of computer modelling and thinking and we basically blew seven million pounds on it. Not quite sure where it all went but it looks pretty.”

We’re certainly enthusiastic about this tangible commitment to cycling and are convinced that the centre of Moseley will be reminiscent of Amsterdam in a matter of weeks (because they  cycle a lot in Holland and not because of all the prostitutes and drugs).
